CHALLENGE ACCEPTED?

What could possibly be more fun during a holiday then taking up a few new challenges?

During these months of Distance Learning, DK Schoolhouse launched a successful and engaging daily challenge program. These challenges extend to each class and involve a variety of activities and topics related to the study subject.

Some of our challenges like "The No Thumbs" challenge, the "Home Scavenger Hunt" and the "Unboxed by Kids, For Kids" challenge extended not just to our school community but involved children, families and educational groups from all over the world!

TODAY'S CHALLENGE?

Q TIP LETTERS (PRESCHOOL)

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

- A packet of earbuds

- (optional) alphabet cards

WHAT TO DO:

Have your child use the ear buds to create capital letter formations. You can start easy by having your child form the FIRST letter in their name, or get more complex and have them create simple CVC words. This tactile activity is a fantastic way for your child to see and associate letters and sounds. REMEMBER: Always make sure your child is properly supervised when engaging in any activity or challenge involving small objects.

CHALLENGED AGAIN?

MATH HACKS (PRIMARY) Find 10 different objects in your house with decimals or fractions on them. (Note: Don't get confused and mix them together. Find either 10 decimal items or 10 fraction items. Look EVERYWHERE. Set a timer and make it a race! Check the closets, in the kitchen, in your room. Once your child has completed the number hunt, have them order the objects from LEAST to greatest. Then, have your child share what order they found each item in!
